Our Honorary Captains
Archbishop Wood's Girls Basketball Program is proud to have been involved with the Athletes Helping Athletes program for the past three years. This program pairs high school student-athletes with special needs athletes from around the area through participation and volunteerism at various clinics, fun days, and through honorary team captain-ship.

Thomas and ErinJanuary 2, 2014
Thomas and Erin did a superb job leading the Vikings as Honorary Captains in their home opener versus Lansdale Catholic. They inspired the Vikings to perfect their trademark stingy defense, holding LC scoreless through the first half. |
2012-2013 Honorary Captains
MattFebruary 14, 2013
Matt not only celebrated his Valentine's Day with the Vikings girls basketball program as their honorary captain, he helped them celebrate a PCL quarter-final win over St. Hubert's by a core of 61-34 as well. Matt brought the Viking crowd to their feet when he hit a half-court shot during the half-time break. |

Ryan & KatieFebruary 8, 2013
The Vikings were thrilled to have Ryan and Katie as honorary Captains for our 2013 Senior Night - our Seniors' last regular season home game at Archbishop Wood. The four Senior captains were honored in a pre-game ceremony and then dismantled a scrappy Archbishop Ryan team on their way to a 42-18 win. |
AJ & ErinFebruary 1, 2013
AJ & Erin joined Archbishop Wood on a night that saw stifling defense shut down Neumann-Goretti's normally stellar guards and leading scorers. The Vikings held the Saints to just 2 points in the 3rd quarter and ran away with the game. Sophomore Aubree Brown led the way with 17 points as Wood avenged a disappointing loss from last season with a 46-24 victory. |

Erin & HeatherJanuary 23, 2013
Erin and Heather joined the Archbishop Wood Lady Vikings and became our good luck charms! After a slow start, the Vikings dug in and applied intense defensive pressure on Archbishop Carroll that held Wood's formidable arch-rival to just three points in the 2nd quarter. The Vikings came away with their first regular season win over the Indians in over 30 years. |
Ryan & JakeJanuary 21, 2013
Ryan and Jake helped boost the Lady Vikings to a nice win over a Bishop McDevitt. The Lady Vikings found themselves challenged by a much-imporved McDevitt squad, but took control of the game in the 2nd half, notching a 57-26 victory. |

Melanie & RyanJanuary 13, 2013
This night brought Ryan, the mayor of Bucks County, and Melanie, the princess of Archbishop Wood to our bench as honorary captains. Ryan and Melanie led the Lady Vikings to a dominating performance filled with offensive firepower that lifted the Vikings to a win over Little Flower, 71-29. |
Erin & ColeJanuary 8, 2013
What a special night for Erin and Cole to be with us at Archbishop Wood. Not only did they witness a strong performance by the Lady Vikings with a win over Conwell Egan, 55-34, but they were on-hand for another special occasion. They witnessed the retirement of #13, Ashley Robinson's jersey, for her outstanding career at Archbishop Wood! |
